Christine Appel

​Christine Appel Is the Director of the research Institute eLearn Center  (http://elearncenter.uoc.edu) at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Barcelona, Spain. She is also the coordinator of European projects, amongst them, LLP project SpeakApps. She has also coordinated EFL and teacher training courses in the School of Languages at the UOC. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Dublin, Trinity College. Her current research interests include Computer-mediated Communication, Distance education, Task-based Learning, and Computer-supported collaborative learning in the L2. She is a member of realTIC (2014 SGR 1003), an AGAUR funded research group.

Toni Martínez

Toni Martínez is instructional designer, expert in teaching methodologies and educational resources for online learning and in e-learning projects management. Degree in Law, Master in Education and ICT (e-learning) - instructional design specialist. For years he has worked as teacher and tutor for UOC postgraduate p​rograms in e-learning. He has offered teacher training for online education to faculty of different universitites and higher education institutions. He has actively participated in the design and implementation of the  UOC Innovation Program at the institutional level, and made consultancy on the implementation of e-learning educational models at several universities in LatinAmerica.He is part of the eLearn Center  team from its creation, and has contributed to generate knowledge about online teaching and learning as a Director of the eLC technical office.

Laia Canals

​Laia Canals obtained my Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2007. After moving back to Barcelona, Ms Canals held a postdoctoral researcher and professor position at the Language Didactics Department at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2012, Ms Canals joined P.A.U. Education, where I was the content manager of the Open Education Europa portal and chief editor for the e-journal eLearning Papers from 2012 until late 2014. She has spent most of my life teaching language and training language teachers, but over the last few years Ms Canals hase taken an interest in educational technology, OER, MOOCs, and digital literacies applied to language learning. 

​Carlos Monzo

Carlos Monzo received the BS and MS degrees in Telecommunication Engineering, and the PhD degree in Information and Communication Technologies and their Management, from Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain, in 2001, 2003 and 2010 respectively. He is the academic director of the "Smart Cities: City and Technology" Postgraduate Study at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and a researcher in the Interactive Tools for Online Learning (ITOL) group, since 2010. His main research interest is in practical experimentation in online learning engineering.

Cristina Girona
Cristina Girona specializes in learning design and teacher training for online education. Degree in Education specializing in career education, and Posgraduate in Audiovisual communications for education and training. Since 1998, she assists professors to plan, design and implement online courses at UOC, and has made consultancy in this field for different higher education institutions. Her research interests focus on instructional methodologies, competence-based design, evaluation strategies and techniques in online environments, quality assurance of e-learning programs and models of faculty staff development. She has been involved in EU projects and e-learning research and she has developed instructional materials, and published articles and book chapters.
​Isabel Solà Albareda
Isabel Solà Albareda is expert and responsible for processes of monitoring and assessment of the Office for Planification and Quality at UOC. She is responsible for monitoring programmes under EEES, for designing and implementing a document manager for assessment and accreditation, and for internal assessment for UOC’s programmes accreditation. Graduated in Teaching (URL) and Psicology (UAB), she has been working for several years in university quality and academic assessment. She is accredited evaluator by EFQM and has participated in E-xcellence Project - Quality e-learning in HE.
 
​Ivan González Pujol
Ivan González Pujol is member of the eLearn Center Office of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He graduated in law from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), coursed official master degree in East Asian Studies at the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) and official master in business administration at UOC. He has experience in international relations among universities and in event organization, especially in activities related to Asian cultures and countries.
 
 
Lourdes Guàrdia
PhD in Educational Sciences at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She is professor at the Psychology and Educational Science Department and researcher within the eLearn Center (E-Learning Research, Innovation and Training Centre) at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). She is currently the academic director of the Master’s degree in Education and ICT (e-learning). She is a member of the Edul@b Research Group funded by AGAUR. Her current research interests include Techno-pedagogical design and Learning Design, Educational Technology, eAssessment and Teacher Training. She has participated and coordinated several research and innovation projects both nationally and internationally. She is also a member and researcher of the Europortfolio European Network of Experts and Practitioners (EPNET) and the Chair of Curriculum Development and Course Design Area of expertise led by the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU). Marga Franco-Casamitjana

Marga Franco-Casamitjana is researcher and programme manager at Doctoral School, UOC. She has been working in UOC as a programme and customized training coordinator, she has worked as a teacher and tutor for postgraduate programmes and she has been an advisor for some e-learning institutions. She has been part of the eLearn Center team. She is a PhD candidate to Doctoral Programme in Education and ICT (e-learning). Her research interests include learning methodologies, e-learning, learning regulation, collaborative learning and time regulation. She holds a Degree in Education (URL), Master in Information and Knowledge Society (UOC), Master in Human Resources Management (EAE Business School) and Postgraduate in Instructional Design (UOC). She has been participating in many international projects.

 

Antoni Pérez Navarro
Antoni Pérez Navarro is doctored in Physics from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona - UAB and received the bachelor's degree in physics science from the same university. During 5 years he was Team Manager at AURENSIS (SYSIGSA) in the area of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). His research domain is mainly focused in location bases systems (LBS) and context aware recommendation systems. Actually, Dr. PEREZ-NAVARRO is professor at UOC Computer Sciences and Multimedia Department where he develops several tasks like: responsible of physics subjects, manager of GIS courses at Telecommunication bachelor program and Manager of several MSc thesis and PhD thesis at UOC University.
 
Albert Sangrà

Albert Sangrà is the Academic Director of the UNESCO Chair in Education and Technology for Social Change at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC) and full professor at the Psychology and Education Department. He is a member of the Edul@b Research Group, associated to the eLearn Center. He served as Director, Methodology and Educational Innovation until 2004, being in charge of defining the educational model of the university and as Director of the eLearn Center from January 2012 to February 2014. Sangrà’s research interests are the uses and applications of ICT in education and training and in particular, the policies, organization, management and leadership of e-learning implementation, and its quality assurance. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank Institute, as well as for several online education and training projects in Europe, America and Asia.
